How it works

Commands with risk levels

Predefined commands per equipment type, for the roles each winery enables. High-risk commands need approval from another authorized person or presence confirmed with the equipment's QR code.

Safeguards on every command

A checklist before confirming, a STOP button with no confirmations for whoever operates the equipment, and a record of every command. The equipment's physical stop always wins.

Sensors in the fermentation curve

Readings from probes and equipment linked to a tank complete the fermentation curve automatically and trigger the tank's alerts.

Works without internet

The bridge device stores readings if the internet drops and sends them once it is back; meanwhile it accepts no new commands.

Standard protocols, real status

Modbus TCP, MQTT, HTTP, Modbus RTU, OPC-UA and Siemens S7 implemented, not yet verified in the field. The bridge device runs on a Raspberry Pi or a mini PC.

Manual and automatic, together

Sensor data and data entered by hand live in the same record for each vessel. Without sensors, Cepaos works just the same.

Manufacturer platforms

The Things Network

Implemented, not yet field-verified

LoRaWAN probes the winery already has: temperature, pH and density from a probe linked to a tank flow into the fermentation curve automatically (at most one point per hour).

Sencrop

Done · activates with the winery’s account

Vineyard stations, using the winery's own credentials.

Pessl Instruments (METOS)

Done · activates with the winery’s account

iMETOS vineyard stations and probes (FieldClimate), using the winery's own credentials.

Wialon

Done · activates with the winery’s account

Fleet truck positions on shipments, with the token the winery gets from Wialon.

Geotab

Done · activates with the winery’s account

Fleet truck positions on shipments, with the winery's Geotab database, user and password.

Davis Instruments

Done · activates with the winery’s account

WeatherLink stations, with the winery's WeatherLink key.
