Why this matters
Most Canadian provinces channel wine sales through a provincial liquor board. Each board has its own listing process, purchase-order rhythm, packaging requirements and consignment rules. Cepaos centralises the board relationships so a single SKU can serve multiple provinces with correct paperwork.
Prerequisites
- Each province configured in Settings > Compliance > CA > Liquor Boards with agent details and account number.
- Product SKUs with the right barcode (GTIN), case configuration and label artwork.
1. Manage listings
For each SKU, capture the listing status per province:
| Province | Listing type | Cost-of-goods reference |
|---|---|---|
| ON | LCBO General List / VINTAGES / Consignment | Quote |
| QC | SAQ Régulière / Spécialités / Imports privées | Quote |
| BC | BCLDB Wholesale / Hospitality | Quote |
| AB | AGLC private (warehouse Connect Logistics) | Quote |
2. Capture purchase orders
Inbound POs from each board are mirrored in the commercial module with the board's PO number, requested delivery date and case quantity.
3. Manage consignment stock
For VINTAGES, SAQ Imports privées and BC hospitality consignment, Cepaos tracks units on consignment versus invoiced, with monthly depletion reports.
4. Generate price postings
For SAQ and BCLDB price postings, Cepaos calculates the landed cost, agent commission, markup and consumer price in CAD, with the trail back to the FOB / CIF reference.
FAQ
Can I sell direct-to-consumer in Canada?
Direct-to-consumer rules vary by province; some allow inbound shipments from another province, others don't. Cepaos surfaces the rule per destination at checkout.
How do I handle deposit-return / recycling levies?
Each province has its own container deposit regime. Cepaos applies the relevant deposit per SKU and remits via the board's monthly statement.
