Cepaos Gateway
A mini-PC on your network reads the equipment over an industrial protocol.
- 1
In Cepaos, go to IoT & Automation → Gateway and tap “Connect gateway”. You get an install command with a single-use token valid for 24 hours.
- 2
Prepare a Raspberry Pi 4 (or a mini-PC) with 64-bit Raspberry Pi OS Lite or Ubuntu Server 22.04+, wired to the winery network and with internet access. Paste the command: it installs the agent as a service in about 2 minutes.
- 3
Once the gateway shows as online, add the equipment in IoT & Automation → Connected equipment → New equipment and choose the Modbus TCP / Siemens S7 protocol.
- 4
Fill in the adapter configuration with the data from the manufacturer’s manual (IP, Modbus registers, NodeIds or tags). The template marks what to fill in: Cepaos never makes up registers.
- 5
Open “View live” and check that readings arrive. If there is no signal within 5 minutes, check the agent with journalctl -u cepaos-gateway -f.
You need a Cepaos account with the administrator role.
Does the Gateway keep working if the internet goes down?
The agent runs inside the winery: it keeps reading the equipment and stores the events until the connection is back.
