Why track SWNZ in Cepaos
Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand (SWNZ) is the national sustainability programme managed by New Zealand Winegrowers. Over 98% of New Zealand's vineyard area is SWNZ-certified. Maintaining certification requires annual scorecards covering vineyard, winery, and business practices. Cepaos centralises your SWNZ data so you can prepare for audits without scrambling through spreadsheets.
Prerequisites
Before tracking sustainability milestones:
- Vineyard blocks configured in Vineyard > Blocks, with variety, area, and GI region.
- SWNZ membership number entered in Settings > Organisation.
- At least one season created in Settings > Seasons.
Step by step
1. Access the sustainability module
In the sidebar, under Compliance, click SWNZ Sustainability. The current season scorecard is displayed.
2. Complete scorecard sections
The scorecard mirrors the official SWNZ categories:

3. Attach evidence
For each section, click + Attach to upload supporting documents such as lab results, spray diary exports, or training certificates.
4. Review and submit
Click Review Scorecard to see a summary with traffic-light indicators. Sections meeting SWNZ thresholds show green. Address any red items before your audit window.
5. Export for audit
Click Export > PDF to generate an audit-ready report. The PDF includes all evidence attachments and a timeline of when each milestone was recorded.
Frequently asked questions
Does Cepaos replace the SWNZ online portal?
No. You still submit through the official SWNZ portal. Cepaos helps you collect and organise data year-round so submission is fast.
Can I track organic and SWNZ together?
Yes. The sustainability module supports multiple certification frameworks side by side.
