What is the NFA
The National Food Agency (NFA) of Georgia, under the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, oversees food safety and wine production standards. Georgia's Law on Vine and Wine (2017) requires all wine producers to register with the NFA and comply with production, labelling, and safety standards. Cepaos helps you compile registration data and maintain ongoing compliance.
Prerequisites
- Company data complete in Settings > Organisation: legal name, identification number, address.
- Vineyard blocks configured with variety, area, and micro-zone in Vineyard > Blocks.
- At least one vessel (tank or qvevri) registered in Cellar > Vessels.
Step by step
1. Access NFA module
In the sidebar, under Compliance, click NFA Registry. Your current registration status is displayed.
2. Complete the establishment record
Cepaos pre-fills your organisation data. Complete the additional fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Producer type | Winery, micro-winery, family cellar |
| Production method | Modern, qvevri, mixed |
| Total capacity | Sum of vessel volumes in litres |
| Winemaker | Responsible person |
3. Register production facilities
The NFA requires details about your production premises. Enter the facility address, building type, and equipment list. Upload photos if required.
4. Submit annual harvest declaration
After vintage, click + Harvest Declaration. Cepaos auto-fills grape quantities per variety and vineyard block. Georgian varieties such as Saperavi, Rkatsiteli, and Mtsvane are pre-loaded.
5. Submit production declaration
Click + Production Declaration. Cepaos compiles wine volumes from your cellar book, including qvevri wines.
6. Export for submission
Click Export > PDF for submission to the NFA. Upload the NFA acknowledgement to Cepaos after approval.
