Cepaos Gateway protocols

For equipment without an internet connection, the Cepaos Gateway (a Raspberry Pi or mini-PC on the winery network) translates industrial protocols into Cepaos events.

ProtocolStatusTypical use
Modbus TCPField-testedFlow meters, chillers, boilers and sensors over Ethernet.
MQTTField-testedSensors and gateways that publish to a broker.
HTTPS (REST)Field-testedEquipment with its own REST interface that sends straight to Cepaos.

OPC UAImplemented, pilot pendingIndustrial PLCs (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider).
Siemens S7Implemented, pilot pendingSiemens S7 PLCs (CIP stations, lines).

How a connection works

  1. 1

    Pick the equipment or platform

Each profile says what data comes in, over which protocol and what you need before you start.

  2. 2

    Follow the step-by-step guide

Guides point to the exact Cepaos screen where it is set up, with your own credentials.

  3. 3

    The data reaches your winery

Readings, counts and movements are linked to your lots, vessels and blocks, with full traceability.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between “Available”, “Compatible” and “Under evaluation”?

Available: the connector is in production and you set it up yourself in Cepaos. Compatible: the equipment speaks a standard protocol Cepaos supports, but we have not validated that specific model; you need the manufacturer’s manual. Under evaluation: there is development or a profile in Cepaos, but it is not yet enabled for customers.

Are the brands in the catalog official Cepaos partners?

No, unless the profile says so. The catalog lists technical integrations. If you are a manufacturer and want to be listed as an official partner, use the “Become a partner” form.

Do I need a specific plan or add-on?

Equipment and sensor telemetry requires a plan with IoT; sending commands to equipment (for example, starting a pump) requires the Connected Winery add-on. Accounting, banking and tax integrations depend on the market and the plan; each profile says so.

Who enters the credentials?

You do. Cepaos connects with your own accounts, API keys or certificates (bring your own credentials). We never issue or operate on anyone else’s behalf.

My equipment is not listed. What should I do?

Request the integration with the form on this page. We review the equipment’s protocol and tell you whether it can connect through the Gateway or what would be needed.

What about equipment without a network connection?

With a retrofit (an external sensor and, if needed, a relay with Modbus output) it can still be measured. If not, Cepaos lets you enter readings by hand from the equipment record.

Can’t find your equipment or software?

Tell us what you need to connect. We assess the protocol and get back to you with next steps.

Do you make equipment or software for wine?

Add your solution to the catalog: growers and winemakers who use Cepaos reach your website from your profile.
